The American startup OB1, that is behind the decentralized marketplace OpenBazaar annonced the securing of new funding.  This time it headed by the investment firm Digital Currency Group.

This is stated on OB1 official website:

" OB1 has now raised a combined $4.2 million from DCG, Union Square Ventures, Andreessen-Horowitz, BlueYard and angel investor William Mougayar to build their groundbreaking peer-to-peer e-commerce protocol using Bitcoin."

CEO DCG, Brian Hoffman, said:

"Since the launch last year, we have shown steady growth. Our network makes an important contribution to the development of p2p payments and blocking technology, and for us it is a big part of having such an investment partner that shares our vision."

Earlier, thanks to a partnership with ShapeShift, users of OpenBazaar had the opportunity to pay and accept payments in altcoins.
